On this 3-day, 2-night Tambopata Safari tour, you will visit trails within the forest, enjoy the sunset on the river, observe a variety of flora and fauna. Get to know the heart of Lake Sandoval.
DAY 1: HEADING TO THE HEART OF LAKE SANDOVAL
Reception at the meeting point and heading to the boat, the trip is 40 minutes along the Madre De Dios River. Arrival at the Tambopata National Reserve and in 5 minutes we will enter Lake Sandoval.
The walk is 3 kilometers (1 hour) where we can find: monkeys, snakes, tarantulas, tropical birds, parrots.
At the end of the walk, a canoe awaits us to go to our cabins exploring Lake Sandoval and on the way we can find; tropical birds on the shore, herons, alligators, and the giant 2-meter-long river otter. Representative animal of the department of Madre De Dios.
Welcome to our rustic cabin, we have a typical jungle lunch (juane) with seasonal refreshment. Presentation of room and location of the lodge.
After lunch we go out in our canoe to explore Lake Sandoval where we can be in contact with the fauna at 100%. A short break in the canoe to wait for the sunset at Lake Sandoval is unique since few passengers can rest at Lake Sandoval.
Search for alligators or find your alligator at Lake Sandoval where all our guides have to teach you how to find your black alligator.
Return to our cabin for dinner.
DAY 2: THE MANIFESTATION OF THE FAUNA
From very early at 5 am we go in search of yellow and blue macaws and possibly find other species in the parrot clay lick activity in the palm ecosystem. This activity is unique in our region of Madre de Dios and very important where you can see a show or flocks of parrots and macaws.
We return to our lodge for breakfast, search for giant otters and visit the tower of Lake Sandoval at a height of 30 meters. And optional piranha fishing, I have toured Lake Sandoval
looking for more fauna always surrounded by a natural setting.
Typical lunch, Flora interpretation walk, getting to know our trees with a life of 500 years and medicinal plants.
If we have energy we can take a night walk: we will observe spiders, tarantulas, frogs, toads, nocturnal animals, nocturnal monkey and snakes.
DAY 3: GIANT OTTER WATCH 2 METERS
5 AM. SEARCH FOR GIANT OTTER in Lake Sandoval.
Amazonian sunrise and departure to Puerto Maldonado. This morning you can enjoy the sunrise and capture the impressive views of the Madre de Dios River. You will enjoy a last nutritious breakfast with organic ingredients from our pantry before leaving. Your guide and the staff in charge will say goodbye to you and thank you for your visit to this part of the Amazon. You will travel by canoe with an outboard motor back to Puerto Maldonado.
Depending on your departure time, you will be able to relax and wait quietly for your bus home or to your next destination.
