Dénia & Jávea: Secret Viewpoints of Costa Blanca

Explore hidden viewpoints and mountain villages near Dénia and Jávea, visit Cova del Rull, and enjoy easy scenic walks through the Marina Alta.
Discover a quieter side of the Costa Blanca on a guided route through the interior of Alicante. Travel by private vehicle from Dénia or Jávea and combine short, pleasant walks with panoramic “natural balconies” over valleys, peaks, and the Mediterranean coast. Along the way, your local instructor shares stories about the landscape, villages, and traditional mountain life in the Marina Alta.

Start the day with a scenic drive toward Vall d’Ebo, stopping at the Sorell Pass viewpoint to look out over Marjal Pego-Oliva Natural Park. Continue with a brief stop at the Barranc del Infern viewpoint before arriving in Vall d’Ebo for a break and time for lunch or a light snack (not included).

Next, visit Cova del Rull, a striking cave and natural monument set in the mountains of Alicante (entry included). Afterward, transfer to Vall d’Alcalà and enjoy an easy walk of about 1.5 km to reach the Cava de Baix and its viewpoint. During summer months, you may also choose to cool off at the public swimming pool (entry not included).

In the final stretch, head to the Xap viewpoint—an excellent balcony over Vall de Gallinera—then continue to the highest point of the route, Miserat peak, where expansive views open over the sea and the surrounding mountains. Return to the starting area with time to reflect on a half-day filled with nature, history, and some of the Costa Blanca’s best-kept lookouts. Schedules are approximate and may vary.
