Select the local-return option if you are staying around Tissamaharama or the Yala area. Alternatively, choose the one-way travel option to get picked up from Galle, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa, Mirissa, Hiriketiya, or Tangalle, experience a private Yala safari, and continue directly to your accommodation in Ella.

Option 1 – Yala or Tissamaharama pickup and return

Meet your safari driver at your accommodation in Tissamaharama or the selected Yala-area pickup zone. Travel by private 4x4 jeep towards the park entrance.

Each guest must purchase the required Yala National Park entrance ticket separately at the official entrance counter. Entrance and service fees are not included in the activity price.

After completing the entrance procedure, begin a private game drive through the park. Explore a changing landscape of dry forest, grassland, rocky areas, lagoons, and seasonal water sources.

Your safari driver will select an appropriate route according to park regulations, road conditions, weather, recent wildlife movements, and information available on the day.

Look for elephants, spotted deer, sambar deer, water buffalo, crocodiles, monkeys, wild boar, peacocks, and other birdlife. Yala is also known for leopards and sloth bears, but all animals live freely in their natural environment. No specific wildlife sighting can be guaranteed.

After the safari, return by jeep to your original accommodation in the Tissamaharama or Yala area.

Option 2 – South coast pickup, Yala safari and Ella drop-off

Begin with pickup from your accommodation in Galle, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa, Mirissa, Hiriketiya, or Tangalle. Travel towards Yala in a private air-conditioned car or van selected according to your group size and luggage.

On arrival near the park, transfer to a private 4x4 safari jeep. Your luggage remains secured in the road-transfer vehicle while you join the safari. Guests should provide their luggage details in advance so that a suitable vehicle can be arranged.

Purchase your Yala National Park entrance ticket separately at the official entrance counter before entering the park. Entrance and service fees are not included.

Explore the park with an experienced safari driver. The route and observation areas are selected according to wildlife activity, park rules, weather, and track conditions. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

After completing the safari, meet your road-transfer driver again, collect your luggage, and continue in the air-conditioned vehicle towards Sri Lanka’s central highlands.

Travel directly to your independently reserved accommodation in Ella. A short comfort or meal stop can be made when time and road conditions allow, but food and drinks are at the guests’ own expense.

Finish with drop-off at your confirmed hotel or accommodation in the Ella area.
