Uganda: 5-Day Midrange Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Tour

Embark on a 5-day safari from Entebbe to Kigali. Experience game drives, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking, and relax by Lake Bunyonyi.
Begin your adventure with a hotel pickup in Entebbe and head towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route, stop at the Equator line in Kayabwe for a memorable photo opportunity. Enjoy lunch in Mbarara before continuing your journey. Arrive at Queen Elizabeth NP in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, and if time permits, enjoy a short evening game drive. Overnight at Twin Lakes Safari Lodge or similar.

Start the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, known for sightings of predators like lions and hyenas, along with other wildlife such as elephants, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, and warthogs. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, renowned for its dense wildlife and birdlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and African fish eagles. Enjoy another game drive en route back to your lodge. Overnight at Twin Lakes Safari Lodge or similar.

After breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge/Kalinzu Forest for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience. Later, transfer southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, home to Uganda’s mountain gorillas. Overnight at Travelers Rest Hotel or similar.

Early morning transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through the forest with a guide to find a gorilla family and spend up to one hour in their presence. Afterwards, transfer to the tranquil Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp or similar.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast by the lakeside, then drive to Kigali, Rwanda. Drop-off will be at your preferred location or Kigali International Airport, depending on your travel plans.
