Embark on a 7-day guided trek up Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route. Enjoy a cultural introduction, mindfulness sessions, and a gratitude ceremony at the summit.
Day 1: Arrival and Cultural Introduction
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and enjoy a private transfer to Moshi town. Check in to a boutique lodge with traditional Chagga décor.
Enjoy a Chagga coffee ceremony and interact with a local family. Learn about their traditions, farming, and life on the slopes. In the evening, attend an orientation session with your guide, receive trekking tips, and participate in a mindfulness workshop for mental preparation.
Day 2: Moshi to Mandara Hut (2,720 m)
Trek through lush rainforest, moss-covered trees, and waterfalls. Pause for a “forest awareness walk” and a waterfall meditation stop with guided breathing exercises. Spend the night at Mandara Hut.
Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720 m)
Trek through transitional forest to heath and moorland. Participate in a plant identification challenge, spotting endemic species like giant lobelias and groundsels. In the evening, enjoy a sunset yoga session overlooking Kilimanjaro’s lower slopes. Spend the night at Horombo Hut.
Day 4: Horombo Hut (Acclimatization Day)
Take a short trek to Zebra Rocks or nearby ridges for altitude acclimatization. Enjoy an optional journaling and reflection session at a scenic spot. In the evening, participate in guided stargazing, with unparalleled views of the Milky Way. Spend the night at Horombo Hut.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,703 m)
Trek through a rocky, lunar-like landscape with sparse vegetation. Learn basic altitude survival strategies and practice mindful trekking, focusing on breath and rhythm. Enjoy an early dinner and prepare mentally for summit night. Spend the night at Kibo Hut.
Day 6: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) to Horombo Hut
Begin your summit push at midnight, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise. At the summit, participate in a “gratitude ceremony,” reflecting on life, achievements, and your journey. Leave a small personal token at the peak. Descend to Horombo Hut for rest. Spend the night at Horombo Hut.
Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Departure
Descend through moorland back to rainforest, passing through Mandara Gate. Visit a local village benefiting from Kilimanjaro tourism, such as a tree planting or school initiative.
