Begin your journey with a convenient pickup from your hotel in central Shanghai. Travel just one hour to Zhujiajiao, one of the city’s best-preserved ancient water towns. With over 1,700 years of history, Zhujiajiao offers a rare look at traditional Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River) life — stone bridges, narrow lanes, canals, and courtyard houses that have remained largely unchanged since the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Meet your local Shanghai guide, who will be your cultural interpreter for the day. Set off on a 2-hour guided walk through the town, learning about traditional water town architecture, feng shui principles, and the stories behind stone bridges, canals, and old residences.
To ensure a relaxed experience, each guest is provided with a personal audio headset, allowing you to hear every explanation clearly, even in open or busy areas. Take photos freely without needing to stay close to the guide, and stay fully immersed in both the surroundings and the stories.
