Begin your day with a hotel pickup in Puerto Iguazú in the early morning. Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by a professional bilingual guide (English/Spanish) who will share insights on regional history, culture, and architecture.

As you drive through the lush subtropical landscapes of northeastern Argentina, cross gentle country roads, passing through small rural villages and glimpsing everyday life in the region. Arrive at the site of the UNESCO-listed ruins of San Ignacio Mini.

At the mission complex, explore the extensive stone structures, including the church facade, the large courtyard, and the original living quarters once inhabited by the Guarani people and Jesuit missionaries. Your guide will explain how these missions were founded in the 17th century, their role in the Guarani community, the unique architectural blend of European and indigenous craftsmanship, and how they were abandoned after the Jesuit expulsion in 1767.

Have time to wander through the finely carved stone capitals, the arcades, the dual-bell towers, and the surrounding parkland, enjoying a deeply atmospheric environment and ample photo opportunities. After your visit, continue to the nearby semi-precious stone mines at Wanda Mines, where you will learn about the mining of agates, amethysts, and quartz crystals, view mining operations, and browse a selection of local gemstones and imported mineral specimens.

Lunch time is arranged in one of the local eateries (meal cost not included) where you can sample regional dishes and continue your conversation with the guide about the land, its people, and its heritage.
