This tour is a journey to the heart of history. Leave the vibrant capital, Praia, and travel back in time to Cidade Velha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where every street tells a story.
This tour starts in Praia, heading to its historic center in Plateau to admire the colonial architecture. Then, we'll go to the vibrant Sucupira Market, an explosion of local colors and aromas. The scenic route then takes us to the coastal landmark of the Dona Maria Pia Lighthouse, before a journey back in time to the historical epicenter: Cidade Velha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In Cidade Velha, history comes to life. We'll explore the Royal Fortress of São Filipe, with its stunning views. Going down, you'll see the solemn Ruins of the Cathedral and the symbol of colonial power, the Pelourinho. We'll stroll along the centuries-old cobblestones of Rua Banana and discover the ruins of the Convent of São Francisco. Each stop is a living lesson, guided by narratives that tell the story of the resistance and birth of the Cape Verdean nation.
