Longji Scenic Area is located in Longsheng Various Nationalities Autonomous County of Guilin. As a globally important agricultural cultural heritage with more than 2,300 years of history, it is known as the "Hometown of Terraces in the World". The terraces spread from 380 meters to 1,180 meters above sea level, with more than 1,100 layers. The lines are smooth and magnificent. In spring, the terraces look like thousands of silver mirrors reflecting the sky; in summer, they are layers of green waves; in golden autumn, they are covered with golden color; and occasionally covered with white snow in winter, presenting stunning scenery all year round. It is home to ethnic minorities such as Zhuang and Yao people, with stilted houses built along the mountains, fragrant oil tea and rich folk customs. It is a perfect combination of natural wonders and cultural heritage.

Huangluo Yao Village, the only Yao village among the 13 villages in Longji, is a living fossil of Hongyao culture. It won the Guinness World Record for "the largest group of long-haired women" in 2002, and is known as "the No.1 Long-Haired Village under Heaven". The Jinjiang River runs through the village, with traditional wooden stilted buildings scattered orderly. Hongyao women have kept long hair for generations, which symbolizes longevity and prosperity, with the longest hair reaching 2.7 meters. The daily long hair combing performance, together with exquisite Hongyao embroidered costumes and original ecological songs and dances, fully shows the ethnic customs. Here you can taste oil tea, wander the ancient village and experience the thousand-year-old Yao lifestyle.

Jinkeng Dazhai is the core area of Longji Terraces, named after historical gold mining. It is also an ancient village inhabited by Hongyao people and was awarded "Chinese Classic Village Landscape" in 2007. The terraces here are grand and well-structured, with three iconic viewing platforms: Xishan Shaole, Qianceng Tianti and Jinfoding. Xishan Shaole is perfect for watching sunrise and sea of clouds; Qianceng Tianti’s ridges are like stairs to heaven, ideal for hiking; Jinfoding is accessible by cable car, the best spot to overlook the whole Jinkeng Terraces and enjoy sunset. In autumn when the rice ripens, the golden terraces and Hongyao villages form a charming picture, a paradise for photography lovers and a place to experience distinctive folk customs such as Hongyao Clothes Drying Festival
