Begin your experience by meeting your guide at the M50 Creative Park, Shanghai’s most complete preserved cluster of former national textile factories. Learn about the history of the site, which began in 1937 when Chinese industrialist Zhou Zhijun moved his textile factory from Qingdao to this site.
After surviving war, nationalization, and decades of industrial use, the factory gradually transformed into an art zone in the early 2000s. Today, M50 is recognized as one of the world’s top art districts and a national industrial tourism demonstration site. It has been featured by international media and visited by foreign dignitaries, becoming a symbol of Shanghai’s successful industrial heritage transformation.
