Begin your adventure by boarding the world’s longest cable car, which takes you from the city center to the top of Tianmen Mountain in just 28 minutes. As you ascend, watch the cityscape give way to terraced fields and the famous “Avenue to Heaven,” a winding road with 99 bends.
Once at the summit, start your exploration along the Guigu Plank Road, a cliffside path that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Continue to the Glass Skywalk, a 60-meter-long transparent walkway suspended 1,400 meters above the ground.
Cross a suspension bridge and pass by the serene Tianmen Mountain Temple before reaching the mountain’s most iconic feature: the Tianmen Cave. This 131.5-meter-high natural archway is a stunning sight, especially when shrouded in mist.
For an added challenge, climb the 999 steps of the “Stairway to Heaven” to get closer to the cave, or take a paid elevator for a more relaxed ascent.
After your visit, descend the mountain via a fast cable car, returning to the city in just a few minutes.
