We start the day interacting with free-roaming animals in Alto del Chocho and end by exploring the colorful streets of Guatapé and the imposing Rock of Guatapé (Piedra del Peñol). Enjoy local gastronomy and themed transport throughout the journey.
The Itinerary
The Adventure Begins: After a brief safety briefing, we will board our themed vehicle for a 90-minute drive. Enjoy panoramic views of green mountains and typical villages as we ascend toward Eastern Antioquia.
Alto del Chocho Experience: Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome and an animal feeding kit.
Animal Encounter: Interact freely with ostriches, llamas, Paso Fino horses, ponies, goats, and experience the unique activity of bottle-feeding fish. The animals roam free and are tame, perfect for petting and photos.
Entertainment & Snacks: Enjoy a light snack while watching Paso Fino horse exhibitions or live regional music.
Piedra del Peñol (The Rock): We will stop at this iconic natural landmark to admire the most famous view of the reservoir (climbing the rock is optional).
Traditional Lunch: We have a surprise for you at "Rafa’s House" (Casa de Rafa), where a local family will delight us with authentic Colombian gastronomy.
The Charm of Guatapé:
Free time to explore the colorful "zocalos" (baseboards) streets at your own pace (with support from a tourist assistant).
Moto-Chiva Tour: A fun tour around the town in a traditional colorful tuk-tuk.
Return: Drive back to Medellín, dropping you off at the original meeting points.

Physical Condition: Climbing the Piedra del Peñol involves 740 steps. Moderate physical fitness is required.
Clothing & Shoes: Wear very comfortable walking shoes (sneakers) as we will visit a farm and climb stairs. Bring sun protection and a light jacket for the morning.
Cash Payments: We recommend bringing cash (Colombian Pesos) to pay for lunch and the Piedra entrance fee, as not all vendors accept cards.
Flexible Itinerary: The order of activities and times may be adjusted due to weather or traffic conditions to ensure the best experience.
We will meet at the Mall Gastroturístico Punto de Encuentro, located in El Poblado on 9th Street. Please ask for Aeroturex to start your Medellín experience.
