Day 1: San Jose to La Fortuna
Begin your adventure in San Jose with a welcome meeting at 3:00 PM. Afterward, board a bus and head to La Fortuna, a small town nestled at the base of the Arenal Volcano. Upon arrival, explore the La Fortuna Town Centre, soak in the Ecotermales Hot Springs, or join a chocolate and coffee tour. Later, participate in a tortilla-making class at El Fogon de Chela and enjoy a homemade dinner.
Day 2: La Fortuna - Sloth Tour and Jungle Night Walk
Start the day early with a sloth-spotting tour. Walk through the tropical rainforest and look for local wildlife like dart frogs, toucans, and sloths. Afterward, enjoy a traditional lunch featuring dishes like empanadas, prensadas (tortilla with cheese), and ripe plantain with cheese. Spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace. In the evening, join a guided jungle walk to see the tropical rainforest in the dark and learn about the region’s nocturnal wildlife.
Day 3: La Fortuna - Mistico Park and Hot Springs
After breakfast, journey through the canopies of Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. Walk across six hanging bridges, spot colorful birds, and learn about the forest’s diverse ecosystem. In the evening, visit the EcoTermales Fortuna, a family-owned natural hot springs in La Fortuna. Relax in the various volcanic hot springs with varying temperatures, then indulge in a traditional Costa Rican dinner.
Day 4: La Fortuna - Doka Estate Coffee Tour and Return to San Jose
On your way back to San Jose, stop for a private coffee tour at the world-famous Doka Estate. Taste Costa Rica’s rich coffee heritage from bean to cup with their award-winning brews. Afterward, travel to San Jose, where your trip comes to an end.
