Descripción

Gentle yoga retreat in a hidden Kyoto temple closed to the public. Serene garden views. English-guided, beginner-friendly. Warm tea with Japanese sweets or temple meal. Small group. No overnight stay.
**Step away from the busy streets**

Slow down in a hidden Kyoto temple dating back 800 years, in the very heart of downtown, for a tranquil short retreat. Closed to the public, this is a living temple and the abbot’s family home, not a tourist attraction. This gentle yoga experience, guided in English, is designed for all levels, including complete beginners. With limited spots per session, it is a side of Kyoto that most locals never get to see, let alone visitors.

Facing a serene garden, flow gently through yoga and let nature bring deep relaxation to body and mind. After yoga, settle in with a cup of warm Japanese tea. In Session 1, savor wagashi (Japanese sweets) from a renowned, long-established Kyoto shop; in Session 2, nourish your body with shojin ryori (traditional Japanese temple cuisine) of seasonal ingredients.

**Photos of the temple and yoga were taken during past guest experiences. Meal photos are shown for reference.**

**An evergreen garden that blooms with the seasons**

The garden changes with every season, so it never looks the same twice. Return as often as you like, and each visit is new. As the Japanese say, ichigo ichie: every meeting is a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

**What makes this experience special**

- Enjoy the whole experience facing a garden that stays green all year, with different flowers in bloom in every season
- Glass windows let you enjoy the garden in any weather, comfortably heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer, or open them for fresh air and the scent of flowers
- Warm tea after yoga, served with wagashi from a renowned Kyoto shop or shojin ryori
- Guided in English by a professional instructor, beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels
- A staff member on hand to help in French, Chinese and Japanese

**We take the photos, you enjoy the moment**

A staff member who speaks French, Chinese and Japanese guides you through temple etiquette and takes photos without disturbing you, so you can simply relax. Digital souvenir photos are included.
