Discover the quiet beauty of the Lowcountry tidal salt marsh on a morning boat tour. Explore winding creeks, hidden waterways and watch as the marsh comes alive with birds, dolphins and other wildlife
Start your day on the water as the Lowcountry marsh comes alive around you. Step away from the crowds and experience the quiet beauty of the Charleston Lowcountry as the sun rises over the tidal salt marsh. Depart from the Limehouse boat landing on Johns Island and explore the off the beaten path parts of the tidal salt marsh away from the crowded tourist routes.
Take a morning ecotour boat charter into winding creeks, hidden waterways, and untouched corners of the estuary where the day begins for the wildlife that calls this ecosystem home. While Charleston wakes up to traffic and busy streets, the marsh is already alive—birds feeding along the shoreline, dolphins moving through the creeks, and the natural rhythm of the Lowcountry on full display.
Explore the hidden side of Charleston with a local captain who understands the waterways, history, and ecology of the region. As you move through expansive Spartina marsh grass and tidal creeks, gain a deeper look at what makes this one of the most productive ecosystems on Earth.
See wading birds like herons and egrets hunt along the oyster beds, while pelicans, ospreys, and shorebirds move with the tides. You may also encounter Atlantic bottlenose dolphins traveling, feeding, and playing throughout the estuary. Each trip offers a quiet, immersive experience shaped by tides, seasons, and wildlife activity, revealing a side of Charleston most visitors never see.
