Take a private journey from Tbilisi to explore the special places in the Tedzami Valley. The trip starts at Ertatsminda Cathedral, built in the 13th century. It's a wonderful example of old Georgian stone carving. This quiet place gets you ready for the rough roads ahead.
After looking around, you'll get into a special 4x4 vehicle to drive through the mountains. You'll drive on old paths that were once a secret, safe route around for the famous Silk Road. In those days, traders and their caravans used these hidden routes to travel safely through the mountains.
During your journey, you'll have a private picnic right next to a beautiful mountain river. You'll get local snacks, fresh coffee or tea, and traditional Georgian sweets. After your break, you'll go for an easy and pretty 3 km walk through a thick forest. This path takes you to the famous "Queen Tamar’s Bridge"—a stunning 12th-century stone arch that's still in great condition.
You'll explore the Rkoni basilica, which is from the 7th century, along with its ancient defensive towers. Your guide will tell you the interesting story of a secret bomb laboratory that was hidden here back in 1905. Before going back to Tbilisi, you'll also get to try some real mountain honey, which bees make from wild forest flowers right here.

Off-Road Adventure: The trip includes driving in a 4x4 vehicle through mountain terrain. While exciting, some parts of the road can be bumpy.
Easy Walk: The path to the monastery is a light, pleasant walk suitable for all fitness levels.
Clothing & Shoes: Please wear comfortable closed-toed shoes (sneakers are perfect). Even on sunny days, it can be windy near the river, so bringing a light jacket is highly recommended.
Communication: I will contact you via WhatsApp or Telegram one day before the tour to finalize the exact pick-up time and location.
Sun Protection: Don't forget your sunglasses and sunblock, as the mountain sun can be quite strong.
