Your driver-guide picks you up in Sapporo in the morning and shares the area's stories in Japanese, Chinese or English as you travel. You'll start at Shikisai-no-Oka, a vast patchwork of rolling flower fields that bloom in bands of colour across the hills, then continue to the famous Biei Blue Pond, where mineral-rich water glows an unreal cobalt blue among bare larch trees.
Nearby, Shirahige Falls tumbles into the blue Biei River, and the Ningle Terrace, a cluster of little wooden craft cabins in the forest, invites a quiet wander. In Furano you'll reach Farm Tomita, Hokkaido's most famous lavender farm, where rows of purple stretch toward the mountains, and the Herb Garden nearby.
It is a fully private trip for your group only, and you can choose a 5, 9 or 17-seat vehicle, with your driver-guide handling the route, parking and local know-how so you can simply enjoy the day and the scenery.
