The journey unfolds with a scenic drive across Nepal’s countryside, leading you to Lumbini’s tranquil plains. The Maya Devi Temple marks the exact spot where Buddha was born, while the Ashokan Pillar and surrounding monasteries built by nations worldwide reflect centuries of devotion and diverse Buddhist traditions.
On the following day, explore nearby heritage sites that shaped Buddha’s early life. At Kapilvastu (Tilaurakot), walk through the ruins of the ancient Shakya kingdom where Prince Siddhartha spent his youth. Continue to Gotihawa, birthplace of Krakuchanda Buddha, and Niglihawa, where Emperor Ashoka erected a pillar for Kanakamuni Buddha. On the final day, visit the sacred Ramgram Stupa, the only intact relic stupa containing Buddha’s remains, preserved in its original form.
