Discover one of the most important ceremonial centers of ancient Peru on this full-day excursion to Chavín de Huántar, an experience that combines breathtaking Andean landscapes with the legacy of one of the oldest civilizations in the Andes.

The tour begins from Huaraz heading towards Callejón de Conchucos, passing through spectacular scenery of the Cordillera Blanca. During the journey, you'll stop at the beautiful Querococha Lagoon, known for its waters of glacial origin and the surrounding mountains, ideal for taking photos and enjoying the natural landscape.

You'll continue your journey through the Kawish Tunnel, an important route that connects both valleys and offers breathtaking views of the Andes.

Upon arriving at the Archaeological Monument of Chavín de Huántar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll tour one of the most important ceremonial complexes of the Chavín culture. During the visit, you'll discover its ceremonial plazas, underground galleries, labyrinthine passages, and stone monuments that reflect the high artistic and religious level achieved by this civilization.

Its main attractions include the Monolithic Lance, the Clava Head, the Stone of the Seven Holes, the Choquechinchay, the Portico of the Falconids, and the ceremonial plazas that make up this extraordinary archaeological sanctuary.

After the tour, you'll enjoy lunch before visiting the National Museum of Chavín, where valuable original pieces and archaeological objects are on display to help you better understand the history and importance of this pre-Inca culture.

The meeting point to start the sightseeing tour will be at our office on Jr. José de Sucre No. 723 (next to Bco. BBVA Plaza de Armas) or pick-up from your accommodation after prior coordination. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the start time of your sightseeing tour. The activity ends with transport to our operator's offices (near the square). It does not include a drop-off at the hotel.
