Arequipa: 1.5-Day City Tour and Colca Canyon+Puno (optional)

Day 1: Arequipa City Tour (walking tour)

Begin your adventure in Arequipa with a walking tour. Meet your guide at Santa Catalina 204 and choose between a morning 10 a.m. or sunset tour 3 p.m.. Explore the city’s highlights, including the Main Square, the Compañia Church, the Compañia Cloister, colonial houses, the El Solar Neighborhood, the San Lazaro Neighborhood, the Alpaca Zoo, the first jail, the first hotel, and Love Park.

Day 2: Full day Colca Canyon Tour +transfer to Puno optional

Between 03:00 a.m. & 03:30 a.m. Get picked up from your hotel or hostel in Arequipa and travel by bus to the Colca Canyon. After a 4-hour journey, stop in Chivay for breakfast before heading to the Condor’s Cross. Admire the breathtaking views of one of the world’s deepest canyons and watch for the majestic Andean Condor.

On the way back to Chivay, stop in the villages of Maca and Yanque, known for their colonial churches, tombs, and Pre-Inca terraces. Visit the hot springs in Chivay or Yanque if you wish, and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

On the return journey to Arequipa, stop at Patapampa, an incredible viewpoint where you can see the Ampato, Sabancaya, and Hualca Hualca volcanoes. This is also the highest point of the tour at 4,800 meters above sea level in Pampa Cañahuas. Finally, get dropped off near your hotel, hostel or airbnb in downtown Arequipa.

For those that wish to finish in Puno: On return to Chivay at 1 pm, there will just be 15 minutes for lunch before departing to Puno. Arrival time in Puno is 7 pm, and the drop off point is at Puno Bus station (you can add it on this package-bring all your lugagge).
