Cusco: 2-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Hotel Inca Trail - Group Tour

Experience the magic of the Inca Trail on this condensed 2-day trip to Machu Picchu. Begin your adventure with a transfer from your hotel in Cuzco to the Ollantaytambo train station (1h 30 min), then embark on a scenic train ride to Km. 104 (2,200 masl / 7,217 ft), the starting point of your trek. We will pass over a bridge over the Urubamba River. The hike from start to finish is arduous and challenging, but you will be rewarded by beautiful mountain views, abundant flora and fauna and fascinating archaeological sites such as Chachabamba, Wiñaywayna (2,650 masl / 8,694 ft), Inti Punku (2,720 m / 8,923 ft), from the latter you get a panoramic view of Machu Picchu. The hike ends descending to Machu Picchu to finally take the bus to Aguas Calientes. After the visit, you will spend the night in a nice and comforting hotel and have dinner.

The second day will be unforgettable, delve into the history and mystery of Machu Picchu with a guided tour. Your guide will be waiting for you to take you to the bus station and from there up to Machu Picchu. The tour has a duration of 3 hours approximately where you will visit the most important places of Machu Picchu such as: the Royal Mausoleum, the Temple of the 3 Windows, the Main Temple, the Sacred Plaza, the famous Intihuatana. Explore the intricate stone structures and terraces that make this place one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After the visit, you will have free time to visit Machu Picchu on your own, (optional hike and climb Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu mountain has an extra cost of $70 USD per person).

At appropriate time we will board the bus from Machu Picchu back to the town of “Aguas Calientes”, then board the train back to Ollantaytambo and be transferred to Cusco. Arrival time in Cusco will be 06:30 PM, the tour ends with the transfer to your respective hotels.
