DAY 1: CUSCO, EXPLORATION OF LAKE HUMANTAY AND CAMPING IN QUISWARNIYOC
Start your trek in Cusco. Hike to Lake Humantay and camp in Quiswarniyoc.
DAY 2: QUISWARNIYOC, ASCENT TO THE HIGHEST POINT, SALKANTAY PASS AT 4700 METERS, THEN DESCENT TO CHAWLLAY CAMP
Hike to the highest point, Salkantay Pass at 4700 meters, then descend to Chawllay Camp.
DAY 3: SANTA TERESA VALLEY EXPLORATION: LUCMABAMBA CAMP AND SANTA TERESA HOT SPRINGS
Explore the Santa Teresa Valley. Camp in Lucmabamba and visit the Santa Teresa Hot Springs.
DAY 4: HIKE ALONG THE INCA TRAIL TO LLACTAPATA, EXPLORING THE INCA RUINS AND MACHU PICCHU VIEWPOINT, HIKE TO AGUAS CALIENTES
Hike along the Inca Trail to Llactapata. Explore the Inca ruins and Machu Picchu viewpoint. Hike to Aguas Calientes.
DAY 5: EXPLORE MACHU PICCHU AND TRAVEL TO CUSCO
Visit Machu Picchu, a long awaited highlight. Get up at dawn, around 4 am, to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Start the hike to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. The hike from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu takes approximately 1.5 hours, combining 30 minutes of flat road with an hour of ascent through historic stone stairs that lead directly to the main entrance of Machu Picchu.
After returning to Aguas Calientes, take the train to Ollantaytambo and then transfer to Cuzco.
