Discover the diverse landscapes and cultural highlights of Peru’s southern coast on a full-day journey from Lima. The experience combines marine wildlife, desert scenery, and traditional flavors in Paracas, Ica, Huacachina, and Chincha.
Begin your day with a boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands, a protected marine area known for its striking rock formations and abundant wildlife. During the ride, you will pass by the famous Candelabra geoglyph, carved into the coastal hillside. Keep an eye out for sea lions, Humboldt penguins, pelicans, cormorants, boobies, and other marine birds. Wildlife sightings may vary depending on natural conditions.
Continue to Ica, where you will have free time for lunch and the opportunity to sample traditional dishes from the region.
The journey then continues to a local winery and pisco producer, where you can discover some of the traditional methods used to produce Peruvian wine and pisco. A tasting of selected wines, piscos, and fruit-based liqueurs is included, with time to purchase local products if you wish.
Next, visit Huacachina, a picturesque oasis surrounded by vast desert dunes and palm trees. Take some time to walk around the lagoon, enjoy the scenery, browse local handicrafts, or sample traditional sweets such as tejas and chocotejas. Optional dune activities may be available separately.
Before returning to Lima, make a final stop in Chincha, a region renowned for its culinary and cultural traditions. Depending on availability, you may have the opportunity to sample regional drinks and sweets and browse locally produced goods.
After the visits, relax on the return journey to Lima, with drop-off at the designated meeting points in San Borja and Plaza Norte.
