Explore Puno’s Aymara Route with an official guide. Visit Molloco, Waru Warus, Aramu Muru, and Chucuito while discovering local history, traditions, and Andean culture.
Discover the Aymara Route from Puno on a full-day cultural journey through the southern highlands. Travel in shared tourist transport accompanied by an official tourism guide and visit archaeological sites, traditional agricultural landscapes, local cultural sites, and the historic town of Chucuito.
Your experience begins with hotel pickup in central Puno at approximately 8:00 AM. Meet your guide and board the tourist vehicle to begin the journey south.
Visit Molloco and explore its ancient chullpas, learning about their connection with the funerary traditions of Andean populations. Continue to the Waru Warus, where you can see raised fields and channels while your guide explains traditional agricultural techniques adapted to the highland environment.
Next, visit Aramu Muru, also known as Wilca Uta, a distinctive rock formation with a carved opening resembling a doorway. Your guide will explain the site and share the local stories and traditions associated with it.
Continue to Chucuito, where you will visit the main square and learn about the town’s history and heritage. Then visit Inka Uyo, popularly known as the Temple of Fertility, with explanations from your guide about the site and its local traditions.
If included in the itinerary, a community visit gives you the opportunity to learn about local customs and everyday life directly from community members.
You will have free time for lunch in Chucuito, where you can choose a local restaurant and try regional dishes such as trout. Lunch is not included.
After lunch, return to Puno by shared tourist transport with your guide. Arrival is expected at approximately 4:00 PM.
