San Martín de los Andes excursion to Lake Huechulafquen and Lanín Volcano

Discover one of the most iconic landscapes of the Argentinean Patagonia on a full-day excursion to Lake Huechulafquen and Lake Paimún, with privileged views of the imposing Lanín Volcano.

We'll depart from San Martín de los Andes in the morning, with pick-up from central accommodation, and head to Junín de los Andes, where we'll make our first stop.

We'll continue the tour along the Chimehuín River, internationally renowned for fly fishing, until we reach Lake Huechulafquen, one of the major attractions of Lanín National Park.

We'll drive along the north shore of the lake, passing through Andean-Patagonian forests and volcanic sand beaches, while enjoying breathtaking views of Lanín Volcano (3,776 m).

You'll have free time for lunch. You can choose a country restaurant run by Mapuche communities, where, in addition to enjoying the local cuisine, you can admire the landscape of the lake and the volcano.

After lunch, we'll continue to Lake Paimún, surrounded by forests of ancient Araucaria trees. We'll visit the picturesque Chapel of Mary Help of Christians of Paimún, located in a stunning natural setting.

From this area, we'll be able to take in some of the most spectacular views of Lanín Volcano and its glaciers, an ideal setting for taking photos and connecting with Patagonian nature.

Finally, we'll head back to San Martín de los Andes, once again passing through the landscapes that characterize this region.
