Explore El Jem, Matmata, Douz and Tozeur, cross the Chott El Jerid and spend a night in the heart of the Sahara.
Depart from Hammamet for a 2-day adventure in the heart of southern Tunisia, taking in Roman heritage, troglodyte villages, Sahara dunes, a mountain oasis and the sets of famous films.

Day 1 – El Jem, Matmata and Douz Your adventure begins with a first stop in El Jem, where you will discover its impressive Roman amphitheater, one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Tunisia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then continue south towards Matmata, famous for its traditional cave dwellings. You'll also discover the Hotel Sidi Driss, made famous by its appearance in the Star Wars saga. After lunch, continue on to Douz, known as the gateway to the Sahara. In Douz, enjoy some free time to explore the dune landscapes and, if you wish, take part in an optional dromedary ride in the desert, available at an additional cost. At the end of the day, head to your campsite in the heart of the desert, set among the dunes. Enjoy a peaceful and authentic atmosphere, far from the cities and the hustle and bustle. Spend the night in your tent or, depending on the package chosen, enjoy a night under the starry Saharan sky. If you're lucky, you'll be able to admire a beautiful night sky and the stars above the dunes.

Day 2 – Chott El Jerid, mountain oasis and Star Wars Wake up in the heart of the desert and enjoy breakfast at the camp before hitting the road again. Then cross Chott El Jerid, the largest salt lake in North Africa. Its vast white expanses and landscapes punctuated by mirages offer a spectacular setting. The site has also served as a film set, notably for The English Patient. Continue your adventure to the mountain oases of the Atlas Mountains, where you will discover landscapes combining canyons, palm groves, natural springs and waterfalls. Discover Chebika, a green oasis fed by natural springs, then continue to Tameghza, known for its mountain landscapes, waterfalls and panoramas of the old village. An optional carriage ride through the palm groves is also available. The adventure then continues by 4WD to Ong Jemel, famous for its desert landscapes and the Mos Espa set, used for filming Star Wars. After this immersion in the desert landscapes, you'll head to Gafsa for lunch. Finally, continue your journey to Kairouan, one of the most important historical cities in Tunisia and famous for its heritage and craftsmanship. Enjoy a photo stop to admire the Great Mosque of Okba, before continuing on to your drop-off point.
