Begin your visit in the main lobby of the building facing Plaza Independencia, right in the heart of the city. As you walk through the building, discover its history—beginning with the original owners and the architect behind its design.

Take a closer look at the bronze column ornaments on the ground floor, which form a fascinating marine-themed bestiary surrounding the space. Continue up to the 1st and 2nd floors, where you’ll step into elegant former party halls—now home to a traditional billiards club.

As you move between the 1st and 2nd floors, don’t miss the impressive stained-glass window covering an entire wall. Originally created in 1928 and recently restored, it’s one of the building’s most striking features.

Next, head up to the open terrace on the 11th floor. From here, enjoy panoramic views of the Río de la Plata, Cerro de Montevideo, the square below, and the tower itself—once the tallest point in the city until about two decades ago.

The experience concludes at the enclosed viewpoint on the top floor, offering a truly unique perspective over Montevideo. From here, take in the port, the coastal promenade, the river, the hill, Parque Rodó, Punta Carretas, and the historic Puerta de la Ciudadela—a remaining gateway from the colonial era.
