You will explore the coffee plantations and discover the key factors that make Colombian coffee one of the best in the world.

Walking among the plants you will learn why organic coffee cultivation involves sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices, without the use of synthetic chemicals, pesticides or fertilizers. You will learn about soil preparation, the first planting of seedlings in sand, until you reach the field; maintenance, pruning, weeding, and the prevention of diseases and pests through organic methods such as the introduction of beneficial insects and the use of traps.

Once the field tour is complete, you will enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while participating in an entertaining talk about the outcome of the responsible farming process, which is often appreciated for its distinctive flavor and commitment to sustainability.

Afterwards, we will head back to Medellín to visit Urbania Café, a roastery that is dedicated to empowering and expanding the coffee culture. There you will delve into the industrial process of coffee; a specialized team will show you how the flavor and unique characteristics of coffee are enhanced before it reaches your cup. You will learn about the selection, roasting and packaging of coffee.

The experience will culminate with an exciting tasting of specialty coffees, including award-winning cups for their exceptional flavor profiles and differentiated notes that have received accolades from professional tasters. Here, you will be able to appreciate the diversity of flavors that Colombian coffee has to offer.
