Your adventure starts on Qatar’s east coast in Doha and takes you all the way to the west coast, passing notable sights like Education City, the camel racing track, and vast stretches of open desert. About 45 minutes into the drive, the scenery shifts into a dramatic, Mars-like landscape.

The first highlight is Zekreet village, home to the remains of an 18th-century beachside fort. After exploring the area, you’ll continue farther into the wilderness to reach Richard Serra’s renowned East-West/West-East artwork — four towering steel structures aligned across the desert plain, now one of Qatar’s most iconic outdoor installations.

Once you’ve taken your photos, you’ll have time to uncover the quieter, hidden corners of this fascinating desert region.
