Itinerary
Your journey begins with a convenient hotel pick-up in Kampala or Entebbe, where you are welcomed by your professional driver-guide and briefed on the day ahead. Setting off along the Kampala–Gulu highway, you’ll travel through vibrant urban outskirts into Uganda’s tranquil countryside, passing roadside markets, small trading centers, and expansive farmlands.

The first stop is in Luweero, a culturally and historically significant area. Here, you can stretch, browse local fruit stalls, and observe daily life in a rural Ugandan town. The journey continues with another brief stop in Nakasongola town, offering a chance to refresh and interact with locals while taking in the slower pace of life.

Upon arrival at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you’ll receive a safety briefing before beginning a guided rhino tracking experience on foot. Accompanied by knowledgeable rangers, you’ll walk through the sanctuary’s savannah landscape in search of the southern white rhinos. Getting close to these magnificent animals is a powerful experience, as you observe their size, behavior, and interactions in their natural environment.

Beyond rhinos, the sanctuary is home to a variety of other wildlife. You may encounter bushbucks, waterbucks, and oribis grazing across the plains, as well as monitor lizards and butterflies along the trails. Bird enthusiasts will appreciate the rich birdlife, with species such as the African fish eagle, grey crowned crane, and numerous woodland and savannah birds commonly sighted.
