In our cozy kitchen in Münchenstein, you'll learn how to create, feed, and manage your own natural sourdough starter — the heart of traditional Italian baking. Whether you're a complete beginner or a curious home baker, this workshop is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to bake with sourdough at home.
During the class, we’ll explore different ways to use sourdough, choosing between:
– Crispy, golden focaccia with olive oil and herbs
– Rustic, crusty bread with deep flavor and character
– Soft Italian piadine, perfect for filling or folding
– And, for those with a sweet tooth, fluffy Sicilian brioche, ideal for breakfast or dessert
You’ll see how the same starter can be used for both savory and sweet creations — and how flexible and creative baking with sourdough can be.
Each participant will receive a piece of our 8-year-old Italian sourdough starter to take home, along with instructions on how to care for it and continue baking on your own.
To make the experience even more enjoyable, we’ll close the workshop with a small Italian-style organyc aperitivo, where we can taste what we’ve baked together, share tips, and enjoy good company — because bread is always better when shared!
All tools, ingredients, and refreshments are provided. Just bring your curiosity (and a clean jar for your starter!).
