Açıklama

Discover the art of indigo dyeing at a historic studio in Kyoto. Create your own hand-dyed furoshiki cloth, learn about the cultural significance of indigo, and enjoy a cup of indigo leaf tea.
Step into a world of timeless craft and beauty in Kyoto with this exclusive indigo dyeing experience.
Hosted at Konya, a 300-year-old natural indigo dye studio near the Katsura River, this immersive workshop invites you to connect with one of Japan’s oldest artisan traditions—aizome.

Konya uses natural fermented indigo (sukumo), a rare and deeply symbolic dyeing method. This is not a tourist show, but a true collaboration with Kyoto’s last remaining indigo dyeing family—now opening their studio to international travelers for the first time through a trusted local connection.

Under the guidance of experienced artisans and a bilingual host, you’ll dye your own textile using time-honored techniques and take home a piece of Kyoto’s living tradition.
