描述
We’ll walk through La Paz after dark, stopping at hidden local spots to taste grilled anticuchos, drink warm purple corn api, and finish with a traditional té con té. simple, cozy, and full of stories
As the sun sets, La Paz transforms — and this tour takes you straight into the rhythm of the night. We don’t go to restaurants, and this isn’t a sit-down dinner. It’s a cultural food walk where you’ll experience what real locals do when the city winds down.
We begin at the gates of San Pedro prison, one of the most notorious — and unique — jails in the world. From there, we’ll walk through buzzing streets, with our first stop for a warm cup of api morado, a traditional hot drink made from purple corn, clove, and cinnamon. It’s comforting, sweet, and perfect for chilly Andean nights. This first spot is tucked away behind the prison — known only by locals.
Our second stop is for anticuchos — grilled beef heart skewers served with spicy peanut sauce and potato. Don’t worry if you’re hesitant — most people say it’s their favorite bite of the night. This is no touristy street stall; it’s a small, family-run spot where food is cooked with heart and history. We support these vendors because they’ve supported their communities for decades.
To finish, we head into a lively part of La Paz where university students gather. Here, you’ll taste the famous té con té — a warm alcoholic tea that Bolivians drink to warm their hearts and forget their worries. It’s more than a drink; it’s a ritual. We’ll toast together and talk about what it means to live here, and what it means to connect — truly — through food.
Along the way, we don’t just feed your stomach — we share the stories behind each bite. You’ll learn why certain dishes exist, who cooks them, and how food reflects Bolivian identity. This tour is designed not just to taste flavors, but to feel them.
We walk slowly and stay warm. We talk, laugh, and learn. If you’re looking for a luxury food tour, this isn’t it. But if you want real connection, authentic flavors, and the kind of night you’ll remember long after, then come walk with us.
You won’t just eat — you’ll feel part of something.
